Oscar Farias
Coach & TrainerOscar Farias is a basketball coach passionate about helping athletes grow as players and people. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health, Oscar brings an understanding of movement, athletic development, and the physical demands of basketball to his coaching.
Originally from San Antonio, Oscar played basketball at Tom C. Clark High School and has since gained experience assisting with basketball camps featuring professional players, including Kevin Durant and Julian Champagnie. His training focuses on shooting, ball handling, guard development, and strength and movement.
Oscar describes his coaching style as holistic, collaborative, and easygoing. He believes athletes develop best when they feel supported, challenged, and connected to the people around them. His goal is for every athlete to leave a session feeling proud of their progress, confident in their abilities, and like they belong.
For Oscar, basketball has always been more than a game. It's his sanctuary and an opportunity to give back to the community. Through coaching, he hopes to instill the same values the game has taught him: hard work, discipline, teamwork, and treating others with dignity and respect.
