Angel Arreola

Coach & Trainer

For Coach Angel, basketball has always been bigger than the scoreboard.

With 7+ years of experience coaching at the middle school and high school varsity levels, Angel brings a high-energy, hands-on approach to player development. He works primarily with middle and high school athletes, focusing on shooting, footwork, defense, basketball IQ, strength, and movement.

But the skill is only part of it.

Angel believes confidence comes from preparation. Put in intentional work, learn to trust it, and when the moment comes, you’re ready to respond. That philosophy shapes the way he coaches. He sets high expectations, asks athletes for real effort, and meets that effort with the same level of investment from himself.

He’s also not interested in athletes being afraid to mess up.

Mistakes are part of the work. Angel wants players to learn how to recognize what happened, take the lesson, reset, and attack the next play. Basketball has taught him that the game—and life—comes in runs. Things shift. Momentum changes. You won’t always get it right. What matters is how you respond.

Athletes training with Angel can expect a coach who will challenge them, get into drills with them, pay attention to the details, and genuinely care about who they are beyond the court. His goal is simple: leave better than you came in, know what you worked on, and be ready to come back and do it again.

Angel is based in Austin and speaks both English and Spanish. Outside the gym, he’s a husband and proud dad to a son and daughter. His family is at the center of his life and a big part of the perspective he brings to coaching.

Basketball, to Angel, is “a beautiful game that brings so much joy.”
